Where I Stand

Everyone deserves a fair chance to succeed. Our nation’s success is built on the founding principles of unlimited opportunity, quality education, commitment to hard work, and the freedom to pursue our dreams. I will fight to ensure that the school system and our children are advancing towards meeting these founding principles.

I would like to bring attention to:

  • School Bus Red Light Runners

  • Book Options

  • School Meals

  • Long Range Planning for New Schools

  • School Bus Driver Recruitment and Retention

  • Below are more detailed ideas.

Education

This particular issue has been increasingly gaining coverage all over the world. Why exactly? Through the pandemic, parents were able to see first hand what was being taught as children were remote learning. There are issues that need to be watched and discussed among parents. In our State there are adult themed literature in the High School level books as well as corruption of innocent minds discussing adult topics in elementary schools. No educator should be pushing their own personal agenda on our children. As I have said in the past, the students should not know the educators political party through their teaching. I will be pushing for accountability and transparency, and will do everything I can to see a brighter future. Learn more and join the cause today.

Health Care

In June 2023 we will lose the funding for some of the school nurses that we have. I will fight to find funding or a means of retaining these nurses for the wellbeing of the students and faculty. Through the pandemic we were able to see the need to have qualified healthcare professionals in every single school.

Safety

This is a subject I am very passionate about, as we all should be. Over the past two decades we have seen an unfortunate increase in school violence across the Country. As a board member, I will do everything in my power to make sure our children, staff and faculty are protected.

This goes beyond resource officers, this is at all levels including school bus safety and bullying.

One Accord

The Bible tells us in Philippians 2:2 "Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind." The only way we can move forward is by coming together, much like charcoal. If you notice, one brick of charcoal doesn't cook your steak, it takes a bunch to get it done. The same goes for the Board and the Parents. We need to come together as one and that includes administrators, staff and faculty.
